In this case, her mother, both of whom are struggling to make ends meet. The director has deftly presented us with an endearing and heart-warming tale of hope.

Raat Akeli Hai 

Being one of the Indian Netflix movies, Raat Akeli Hai unfolds when a newly married landlord ends up dead, and an eccentric cop takes up the investigation. The investigation turns complex due to the secretive family of the deceased and the inner turmoil raging within the cop. Starring Nawazuddin and Radhika Apte (of course) it is tedious at parts but keeps you hooked nonetheless with its suspense!

Love Guaranteed

Susan, an earnest lawyer, in a bid to aid her firm, takes a high-paying case. Nick wants to sue a dating website that guarantees love. As the case draws steam, so do the feelings between Susan and Nick develop. Love blossoms in unlikeliest places. Their situation is as ironic as it gets. It’s one of the best feel-good Netflix movies with brilliant performances by the lead.

A phone-call romance ensues when a woman mistakenly dials a person’s number. Jessi falls in love with the voice and wishes to see the person behind it. So, she travels to the city to meet him. On reaching there, however, a stranger named Roy enters her life. To find out what happens next, go and watch this Netflix movie. It’s a different tale with scenic shots displaying the beauty of Kerala.

Directed by Charlie Kaufman, it visualizes the story of a couple who are heading to meet the man’s parents. Based on the namesake novel, this tale is rather- eccentric, gloomy, unsettling, and everything in between. The lead gives the best acting performances to this outlandish film to life. Based on a real-life person, this movie chronicles the voyage of Gujan Saxena to becoming the first Indian female in combat. It daringly goes through the story questioning the patriarchal mind-set and discrimination still present in society. The way her father supports her dream and the unrelenting mindset, in which, she pursues it are well portrayed. Stellar performances from Angad Bedi and Pankaj Tripathi elevate the experience of this flick.

Da 5 Blood 

Spike Lee‘s latest drama narrates the journey of four African- American vets who battle against humans and nature to retrieve the remains of the fallen squad leader along with the treasure they buried together. In his typical style, Lee’s characters bring to light the issues faced by people of color. With unforgettable performances by late Chadwick Boseman, Delroy Lindo, Jonathan Majors, and Clarke Peters this film is a must-watch.

Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu 

Selvam, a lorry driver at a scrap metal yard, wishes to own a lorry and marry Chitra. However, his life takes a tailspin when he unknowingly becomes the possessor of an unexploded bomb. The film navigates through the changes in his life once it goes haywire. This Netflix film blends fiction and reality seamlessly. The suspense keeps you glued to your seat while subtly delivering the message.

Gambling is a destructive addiction, as we all know it’s a tricky play. But, Adam Sandler sees himself as a charismatic jeweler with a lot of debt to pay. To turn over his fortunes, he partakes in a high-wire bet. The Netflix movie unfolds with its consequence on his near and dear with ingredients of dark comedy. The veteran actor delivers a captivating performance. Worth a watch! 

Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya 

This Telugu remake of the hit Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram narrates a personal journey of a photographer who is out to seek revenge on the stranger who beat him up. Before you jump to conclusions -there aren’t any dramatic scenes where people die or, stakes are too high to lose.
